Privatization of Public School System is Right Wing Next Step

The right wing does not want an educated electorate.  Why?  Because the more educated the voter, the more likely he/she is to vote Democratic.  Look at the election map.  The "blue" states are the wealthiest and most educated in the nation.  The "red" states are poor, under educated, unhealthy, and voting their "moral" beliefs of guns, abortion, gays, and God (GAGG).

After attacking the working class' right to collective bargain, the next step is to reduce the number of qualified teachers, increase tuition so that higher education is out of reach of what is left of the middle class, de-fund student loans, and privatize our public school system.  A private for profit system will ensure that only the elite receive an education, and that there will be an endless supply of cheap, uneducated, hopeless workers that can be further abused by powerful corporate interests.

The working class in the country need to wake up to the realities and stop fighting amongst themselves.  This is exactly what the uber rich are counting on.  We need to get the corporate money out of our political system and elect representatives that will actually work FOR the people instead of corporate money.

Get Corporate Money Out of Our Government

Let's face it.  Our representatives, all our representatives whether they be Democrat or Republican, are bought and paid for by big business.

The only way to take back our government is to:
  • Implement total public campaign financing which would allow viable third party candidates
  • Ban the revolving door employment for representatives leaving office to work in firms for quid pro quo
  • Institute term limits
  • Assign committee chairs on a revolving basis, not on seniority
Everyone we vote in, becomes corrupted by the lobbying of big business.  We need to fight back.

Looming Financial Crisis

I am not an alarmist by any means, but I do believe the USA is headed toward a catastrophic financial disaster.  If the US devalues its currency, we are all in a world of hurt.

Attack on Middle Class and Poor

The US budget should not be balanced on the backs of the unemployed, middle class, and poor.  Cut defense spending and the UNFUNDED wars that the oligarchy began to redistribute our wealth to the top 2 percent.  What kind of society do we want?  Do we want retired people to have no income, no healthcare, and no hope while Wall Street rapes us?  This is a wealthy nation, yet we have people who are hungry!  The chasm between the rich and middle-class is the largest that it has ever been in this country, and yet, our congress refuses to increase move the tax rates back to the levels under Clinton.  It's ridiculous that the conservatives can convince the populace that it's in their best interest to increase the wealth at the top in hopes of a "trickle down".   Just look at the eight years of the last administration, and you should understand that these unfair tax cuts did not create jobs, did not create prosperity, and did not improve the average American's standard of living.

Wisconsin Union Busting

What is happening in Wisconsin is a ruthless attempt to bust the unions.  Whether you like unions or not, Americans should be very concerned that collective bargaining can be legislated to death.  The work rules that we enjoy today are a direct result of the hard-fought fight at the turn of the 19th century.  Many workers died for these rights so we can have 40 hour work weeks, do not force children to work, are paid for overtime, and have safe working conditions.  Who will keep a check on governement and corporations now?  Certainly not our congress or courts.  We are becoming a "Walmart" nation of cheap labor, low minimum wage, no healthcare, and HUGE corporate profits.

Government Budget

Why isn't every woman in this country calling their representatives and decrying the assault on the progress that women have made in last 100 years?  The U.S. House of Representatives just voted against funding Planned Parenthood and  includes a 50 percent cut in the budget of the newly formed Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

The conservative movement in this country has an agenda that should concern us all.  They do not believe that women should work.  They do not believe that women should have control over their reproductive decisions.

The conservatives have long stated that they intend to "starve the beast" referring to social programs.  They prefer to cut taxes for the ultra rich rather than fund programs that would help the working class.
